With this project an existing building was being reconfigured with all internal walls and room sizes amending, to suit two companies situated inside.

Liaising directly with the customers on preferences of options our Draughtsman progressed a number of drawings for build construction, including communication with a mezzanine steel manufacturer for upper floor support.

Drawings were provided and submitted for approval prior to latter stages of detail, these included lighting layouts, HVAC drawings and steel support drawings for the upper floor. With 2D Drawings existing for this project we were tasked in creating a 3D CAD Model within Solidworks, including all windows, doors, wall structure, internal fittings and lighting.

The configurations of each unit were created then combined together, ensuring the layout matched the original 2D Drawing. Additionally fabrication staircases were also 3D Modelled in Solidworks for access. Branding files were used and applied to the side of each unit along with relevant materials and finishes, Keyshot was used to create numerous images.

Image views provided included various Isometrics, Top View, Side View, Exploded Views and Internal Views of specific fittings. On this particular project, we were assigned to provide concept drawings of our client’s idea, following which the content was used for crowdfunding which was a great success, given the interest in the product.

The design progressed from R & D to creating manufacturing drawings ready for Prototype Build, using Solidworks software to generate the Assembly and relevant parts. There was a mix of CFD and 3D Printing during the project to ascertain the final design.

On this project was a mixture of 2D / 3D CAD Design and Rendered Images, we provided our client with a number of different angles to showcase their bespoke Gatehouse. AutoCAD was used initially to create the approval drawing prior to manufacture, showing elevations and plan views proposed for their customer.

Once the project was approved a breakdown of internal views and Bill of Materials / cut lists were provided, illustrating clearly to shop floor all parts involved ready for the manufacturing process.

Solidworks was used to create a 1:1 scale model of the Gatehouse, applying materials and cladding used on the project, ready for 3D Rendering both External and Internal views.

Imagine Draughting Services were hired on this particular job to work closely with the Building Contractor, to illustrate various proposed layouts for the client to review and approve. Isometric and first person Rendered Images were created to assist the Building Contractor for the handover.

Solidworks was used to create the entire initial 3D Model layout, using 2D CAD drawings to work from, following that a number of meetings to discuss the variations, once configurations were approved Keyshot was used to produce the Rendered Images.

Working with UK and International Teams involved in Circuit Design, Mechanical Design and Marketing Teams to develop and modernise a range of High Power Test Equipment and Accessories. Providing design changes and integrating with the companies existing setup to provide new concept designs and provide high detail manufacturing drawings ready for production of products.

Also working with UK team to provide 3D prototyping support and help with technical issues as they arose as well as developing new fixture techniques and ensuring packaging design was fully resolved. This helped to ensure all required components fit together with very high tolerances and ensured the product was durable enough for rugged on-site usage.

High resolution (8k+) images were provided of each product to be used by marketing departments and for use in printed materials and marketing launches/website usage. Using Solidworks Composer, high detail assembly documents and quick start guides were also produced to ensure products were fully re-configurable by the end user.

Our client required a number of Rendered Images at different angles illustrating their product along with the various configurations available, as part of our CAD Services we provide Isometric, Front, Side and additionally any bespoke views you require. We also provided some Rendered Images of the product with the side of the vehicle deployed and the other configurations for potential buyers. All Renders Images were done at high resolution in .JPEG along with a high resolution CAD Animation video.

With their product being customisable we provided a blank canvas version so that customers could pick / choose paint finishes and accessories available. We also provided a 40 second CAD Animation video showing one of the versions available, this was Rendered in High Definition and compressed being website friendly.

Project description

With the 2D CAD (.DWG) drawings already existing on this project, we used the data to convert directly to 3D. Using Solidworks software we then pieced the parts together to create an Assembly.

Once the 3D Model Assembly was ready we created a catalog of Manufacturing Drawings for future use, including flat patterns (DXF) and formed views for the shop floor.

Using the same 3D Model we also provided a range of Rendered Images for marketing use, incorporating logos and decals where relevant.
